This product has been discontinued. My skin loves discontinued items so I bought this at the bargain market for $7. My skin burns upon application and it does not plump up my dehydration lines that are turning into wrinkles bc I have not found a product that increases my skin moisture. I was hoping this would replace my Cerave cream bc I wanted to stop using it bc it's got petroleum. So it's only been my second day of using this. I'll update if this results a miracle. Also, I use pure rosehip oil under this. Mixing it together made my face feel tight. It hurt to smile.UPDATE: this makes my face sticky and hard. I'm not getting flakes or anything like that. But its hard to tell if it's moisturising. Another update(8 wks of use): this has changed my skin, when I smile my face no longer hurts or feels tight. I'll be buying 2 more boxes to use for the whole year. I plan on using the body lotion for summer since it's got the exact same ingredients but is lighter in texture.

I have highly sensitive skin and can use very few products. I had been using Lily Organics face cream. It did not irritate my skin, but nor did it really feel like it was moisturizing and it certainly didn't look any better. Alba Ceranade does not irritate my skin, and it also feels like it is really changing my skin for the better and my skin is moister. I still have redness. I have a feeling if Ceranade did not have the herbs in it that it would be more gentle - many herbs irritate my skin.

I have perioral dermatitis from overuse of steroid cream on my face since high school. This includes red, flaky, itchy, scaly, skin on the sides of my mouth and eyes. Side note: don't ever use hydrocortizone on your face without a doctor's supervision.
After years being let down by creams claiming to be gentle on sensitive skin, I can honestly say that I feel like Ceranade has calmed my skin. The fact that I am able to use this without breaking out is a miracle in itself. I wake up looking dewy and fresh. I definitely recommend this product, it does not irritate the skin.

This is a nice moisturizer than helps heal irritated, dry skin. I believe this heals repair my skin barrier. I have usually have red, dry, irritated skin with rosacea. This has calmed it. In the warm months, I just need a light moisturizer during the day under SPF. That was not possible before I used this cream.

Ceranade is a cream targeted for use on very dry, dehydrated, irritated, sensitive and reactive (read red and flushing, not acne) skin types. It's supposed to help repair the lipid barrier and promote recovery by reducing skin's water loss. It claims to get to the root cause of why your skin is dry instead of being a typical moisturizer and just add some waxes and oils to the surface.
I'm using a mix of AHAs and hydroquinone and was overzealous for a few days, leaving my skin pretty dried out and red. I purchased this to help out my temporarily dehydrated skin. It differed from my rich balms because this cream actually gave my skin a normal-feeling sensation. How so? You know the feeling when you have skin that feels 2 sizes too small and creams only fix that feeling for a minute, and then the shrunken feeling returns? I was experiencing that with my old favorite creams until I tried this. It was applied after I washed my face and my skin felt immediately better - but the completely comfortable feeling stayed around all evening long. The next morning I felt some tightness return but my skin was noticably less reddened and *looked* more hydrated. I use this all over my face, including my eye area. It definitely helps hydrate the delicate skin there and temporarily plumps up the fine lines emphasized by dehydration.
The texture is pretty thick but it does smooth on the skin easily. It's white and there is a very faint scent to it (almost not there) - it's not perfumed but a good nose will detect the essential oils used. It does leave a residue and that should be expected of a healing cream - a film will act as a barrier to help prevent water loss. But it sinks in very well and leaves a velvety finish, so men or women with dry skin could easily wear this on the face in the daytime without looking oily. My makeup wore well over it but I had to use less than what I'd apply at night. Also, people with oily, yet irritated and dehydrated skin *may* find it too rich for daytime use.
The container is white plastic with a screw-top lid. You'll be dipping your fingers into it.
One thing I noticed is that it did feel warm upon application when my skin was irritated. It didn't burn or sting, but it felt like it was sinking in - it was a pleasant feeling, actually. As a comparison, I've used Cetaphil and CeraVe cleansers on my face and both created a small stinging feeling around my nose if I left it on my skin for more than 30 seconds. However , I don't get that sensation with Ceranade. It never stung, only felt warm, and now that my skin is calmed down it doesn't feel like anything except hydrating . EDIT - my skin has become more sensitive and I started experiencing stinging with this cream. :( One time it was strong enough that I had to rinse with cool water.
    Other observations: it's paraben-free.
Possibly recommendable, for those with non-sensitive skin. I won't repurchase.
EDIT: 9/15/08 - Again, I started to experience real stinging with this product and had to discontinue using it on my face. Now it's good for my neck area - no problems there. At the moment, I'm liking Ski Kai's Dry Skin Therapy 24-Hour Repair cream instead. Absolutely no stinging and it's very hydrating. :)
Price: I paid $19.50 for 2 oz at my local health food store.
Ingredients: purified water, vegetable glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid, myristoyl/palmitoyl oxostearamide/arachamide mea and phytosterols, sorbital steaerate, sucrose cocoate, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, arginine, bisabolol, camellia sinensis seed oil, caprylyl glycol, carbomer, dimethicone, citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil and other essential oils, portulaca oleracea extract, sodium hyaluronate, sodium lactate, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e), vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil and xanthan gum. continued >>

This is the new Deeply Restorative Hydrating Cream. They also have a body lotion. I got it at Wild Oats. It's a thick cream meant for reactive skin. It's a little thick for day use, but OK at night. It is soothing and nice on off nights from RAM.
